Summary:

A method is presented for the assessment of the actual fuel consumption of an aircraft on the basis of the observed trajectory (position and altitude), meteorological data (temperature and wind profiles) and PARZOC performance coefficients.

The method covers en-route climb, cruise and descent, acceleration and deceleration phases, and takes into account particular effects
such as airframe configuration changes.

In addition to giving estimates of actual fuel consumption from the observations made, the program developed also provides estimates of consumption for six different transit procedures which could possibly be considered either as references or as practical control approaches.

The set of FORTRAN programs referred to as the FUCOZOC system (Fuel Consumption Estimates in a Zone of Convergence), has been developed by the Mathematischer Beratungs- und Programmierungsdienst, MBP, working under contract for the EUROCONTROL Agency.
